About Us
The Men For Change committee is a group of tireless volunteers who support Safe Alliance programming and the services it provides directly to the women and children who are victims of domestic violence. The funds raised by the Men for Change sustain hope for those in life-threatenting situations.
Safe Alliance provides a continuum of critical crisis services to those victimized by domestic violence, sexual assault or child abuse. We offer 24-hour crisis lines, shelter, a child's advocacy center, safety planning services, hospital accompaniment, case managment systems advocacy, support groups, court advocacy/accompaniment and legal representation. We also specialize in trauma-informed counseling for those struggling with emotional crisis and deliver these services to individuals, couples and families.
Safe Alliance assists over 20,000 people annually throughout our geographic footprint that includes Cabarrus, Mecklenburg, Union and south Iredell counties. We also reach 20,000 more people through our educational and prevention programs as well as institutional advocacy efforts.
Educational programs run throughout the year, but Men for Change confines its fundraising efforts to just one annual breakfast event. Domestic violence is an epidemic -locally and nationally. Last year, Charlotte Mecklenburg police responded to more than 35,000 domestic violence calls. Help us to change this reality.
